Relationships require two things: time and a willingness to listen. This is true no matter what kind of relationship you’re nurturing. A few other important lessons I’ve learned that work as well in personal life as with colleagues and customers:
Consistently show your appreciation. Don’t take loyalty for granted.
Focus your time and energy on those who share your values.
Take care of yourself so you can be of better service to others.
Mistakes will be made. Own them; learn from them; move on.
Don’t get too attached to one way of doing things. Experiment and be open to new discoveries.
